Obama Nominates Three to NLRB Amid Uncertainty

President Obama has submitted three nominees to the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) for Senate approval.

The NLRB has been in limbo since January, when the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that Obama’s January 2012 nominations to the Board were illegitimate; the decision is being appealed to the Supreme Court. All the decisions issued by the NLRB since January 2012 hang in the balance.

The uncertainty is frustrating; there is a bill before the House to essentially freeze the NLRB until it is clear whether or not its recent decisions are legitimate. (This LexisNexis blogger is also fed up with the NLRB’s dysfunction.)
