14 employees fired for wearing Orange

March 19, 2012

"There is no office policy against wearing orange shirts. We had no warning. We got no severance, no package, no nothing," said Ambert, 31, of Coconut Creek. "I feel so violated."

This story was just released to the press in which 14 employees were fired from the Elizabeth R. Wellborn P.A. law firm in Deerfield Beach in Florida, for wearing orange shirts on Friday. The workers wore the color for the past couple of months in order to be seen as a group when they attended after-work happy hour gatherings. Management in the firm was told that the shirts were being worn for some type of protest against the company and fired all the employees.

According to a Florida newspaper, the Sun Sentinel, a spokeswoman for the firm said it had "no comment at this time."

It remains to be seen what legal remedies these 14 employees will have in this matter.
